I nv tot that sarawak is located not in Malaysia until this year..
My friends have told me sarawak is in east malaysia... i told okie... the east side of malaysia... mmm... nearby near KL or dunno where... ...
It was this year that i realised Sarawak and Sabah are located in another part of Malaysia...
Both of them formed part of the Borneo Island...
Felt that I seems a bit ignorant when I asked questions abt Kuching history and Kuching geography....
mmm... went to kuching with him for approximately 2 weeks. was very excited but at the same time nervous.
alot of questions run through my head when the date to kuching is nearing..
thinking....
will his family members like me? will they think that im pampered? will they think that we are not suitable? and alot of stuff la....
DAYS IN KUCHING
We reached the airport at night.. his mother and cousin picked us up...
first impression of his mother is that she is quite friendly...
after dunno how many minutes of drive, i reached his house....
met his grandmother....
his grandmother reminds me of my late ah ma... I think the size are similar.. age are quite near to each other.. my ah ma was 78 and his grandmother is early 80s.. and the elders of that generation wear similar clothings as well. I miss my ah ma very much....
when we were, it happened to be kuching's sch holiday.. so his mum is free as well (she is a sch teacher).. she drove me ard when i was there... he followed along as well...
normally we are out sightseeing in the day and we will be back by evening so that we can have dinner at home...
his grandmother prepared the dinner... i love her cooking... only managed to learn from her one dish... mmm... but then i think he knows it better than me...
when we are free, we played nitendo wii which he bought just 2 days before we leave singapore..
conquering Resident Evil was the main activity when we were at home... there will always be one player.. and 2 audiences (me and his younger cousin) adding on to the sound effect..
his house is very lively at night when his relatives will come over for dinner, watch tv and chit chat...
hah.... alot or maybe all commented that he has grown fatter...=p... sometimes im wondering he grew fatter because of me or i grew fatter because of him....
went to Samatan Beach for the weekend. It was a long drive from Kuching. On the way, they dropped by Sirikin. It is like a market for the locals but set up by Indonesian.
Then we went to Fairy Cave. It was a long climb into windy and cool cave. When we were at the entrance of the cave, cold cave kept rushing out.. A great contrast between the temperature at outside and inside. It was dark inside but we managed to spot a few bats hanging upside and resting for the day.
There are several other caves in Kuching. We dropped by Wing Cave as well..
When we finally reached Sematan Beach, it is already 2pm plus. The weather was even hotter at the beach.. I don't even feel like going out. Just feel like sleeping inside the chalet for the day. Haha..
Anyway, we went cycling after some time nua-ing in the chalet..
There is no cycling track at the beach. So we had to cycle out along the road. I think partly because we are bringing a kid with us, we need to stop whenever vehicles drove past us. . .
The beach is the next stop after cycling! After some splashing water and relaxing in the sea, he decided to rent a kayak..
haha.. so they took turns to kayak. and guess what? hah.. we noted a trend. No matter who edwin kayak with, the kayak will capsize. haha..tested and proven and the result is 100% of the sample size. =p... mmmm... wonder why will that happen... ha...
anyway, the sunset was fantastic.. i missed the sunrise though. hah.. cos we were too lazy to wake up. i think only edwin, me and his cousin were sleeping, the others all managed to wake up and catch the sunrise... I think the sunrise should be nice.. since the sunset was so nice...
mm... the next week was spent traveling around kuching again...
went to the cultural village and learn more abt the history of kuching...
went to the musuem to see the top 10 museum in Asia... it was really not bad... different theme in different buildings...
went around to eat...
other than that, it will be spent in the house playing resident evil... =p... or maybe watching him play resident evil..
