Running away

Auditing is a very fast-paced job.

It forced you to "grow up" in less than 3 years after you have graduated from work.

When I just joined, I was just a fresh graduate and had almost no experience in the corporate world. Well.. Three years passed and I am expected to manage not only my client, my juniors as well as my managers.

Is three years long enough for someone to grow and learn enough to undertake those tasks?

Maybe or maybe not.

I was very stress during a period of time, just trying to cope with the preparation of house as well as meeting the deadline of my engagements.

There were times which I just want to leave all the things behind and run. It was just too much for me.

Well... Ironically, considering that edwin had lesser work experience, he supported me in dealing with the above. "Taking a break is not a solution. You can't possibly keep taking breaks."

There are times when I felt that he is naggy. He kept asking me to change this and change that. I felt that he is being too harsh on me. Sometimes, I just shut off when he was nagging. Ha... This resulted in quarrels. He hated me doing that. But I just love to do that to him. =p

It has been a long time since I do a thorough self-reflection. Maybe it is time for me to do now.

Camera eye

Sometimes I wish that my eye is an automatic camera so that I can capture all the precious moments when I see them.

Travelling

Travelling used to be my hobby. I still love travelling a lot. But I have given up that hobby.

I like to see what is it like in the other parts of the world. I once had a dream of visiting the 7 wonders of the world.

However, I married a guy who don't like travelling.

The idea of a short trip was rejected several times.

He feels that travelling will cost quite a sum which can be saved for other greater purpose.

My colleagues just came back from Japan. They spent about 3.5k for a 10 days trip.

When they told me that, I was calculating how much can I save from 3.5k. I guess this thought is originated from the pressure to save money for the family.

It was a waste that I have to give up my dream. Well... I must say that it was worthwhile giving up.

Haha... To compensate for that, my honeymoon destination must be somewhere expensive, romantic and unforgettable! =p

National Day Parade

Edwin and I watched National Day Parade today.

A very weird feeling watching tv with him actually.

We seldom watch tv when I am at his house as his landlord don't like him to bring friends home. Therefore, usually I will hide inside his room and watch movies with him from his desktop.

Watching tv with him gives me a very relax feeling. It was a different feeling from watching movies from his desktop.

Ha.. Weird but true...

Busy Busy Busy

I have been driving from West to East and back to West last few Sundays.

The first sunday that I started driving was to fetch Edwin from the airport. He is back! =).. Misses him even though it is only for a few days.

The next Sunday was to the electrical fair in Singapore Expo. Not really a wasted trip. We bought a Sony Bravia TV (Serial No. 40BX400) for $999 and get a free dunno what brand HD camcorder. We bought a Hitachi fridge at $799 over there too. A pretty big fridge for us actually. Should have brought the smaller size. Nevermind. What is purchased is purchased. Let's look forward to having it delivered to our house! =)

We drove to Tampines for baminton the week after that. After that, we went to liang court to change our Sony Bravia TV cos I felt that the specs was not very good for the current technology. People are already watching LED tv whereas the motion flow for our TV is only 50Hz, which is pretty slow for the TV on sale now. Therefore, we changed to a Philips TV the motion flow is 100 Hz. At the same time, the colour contrast is much higher too! 80,000:1 compared to Sony's 30,000:1. We topped up additional $300 and have to return the camcorder. Nvm la. I bet it will be difficult to sell the camcorder in ebay. =p..

Finally, we drove to Tampines again on the Sunday that just passed. It was for badminton again. After that, we went back to our house (sounds weird calling the place ur house.. =)), trying to tidy up the place.

In the end, my lazy husband decided to ask the contractor to clean up the house instead. That was despite all the cleaning equipment we have purchased. =(.

All in all, these few weekends were spent on buying stuff for our house.. Don't really have time to spend at home. But it was worth it.. =)

New hobby

Watching cooking channel is my new hobby these few days.

Marriage has definitely placed a part in my latest hobby.

I like the thought that he looks forward to my cooking.

I personally prefer eating to cooking. I dread the preparation process. I don't mind chopping garlics but I don't like cutting fish or touching meat.

I am not very good in cooking actually. He is a much better cook than I am.

He is better in using all the different ingredients than I am. For me, all seems to be the same.

I guess in order for him to look forward to eating food that I cook, I need to brace myself for the challenge ahead.

ROM

I was very excited on maybe 14th or 15th.. grinning from ear to ear in a silly manner at times.. I guess that was infectious. Ha.. I have even managed to influence a colleque to feel like getting married.

But anyway, the days past by very fast and very soon, 17th June arrived..

It has been a very hectic day...

We reached the place at 12noon. The make up and hairdo took 2 hours. Haa... When I was doing the make-up.. my husband to be kept popping by and smiling.. I guess he never saw me make over before.. p...

Finally, we proceed down to the Registry of Marriage which is located at the Minstry of Nation Development. Not a very romantic place thought. A pity that the old place is under renovation.

When we reached there, everything went as planned except for one. My father forgot to bring his ic and he went back to the car and take. Just a very small hiccup.

The whole solemnisation process was indeed very solemn. Everyone was very quiet and serious except for my cousins who were giggling behind through the whole process. Haha.. I guess they find it very amusing..=)

Went for a 2 hour photography.. Very tiring... Thick makeup and high heel shoes.. jialat... I cant imagine what will it be like during the photo shoot..

Time to get used to wearing high heels..

The whole thing end with a buffet dinner at orchard hotel.

and I went back home and he went back home.. so weird hor... but no matter what, we are married.. =)

17th June 2010

In less than two weeks, I will be married!

In less than two weeks, my marital status will be married instead of single.

In less than two weeks, I will be getting the keys to my future home...

In less than two weeks, all the decisions have to be made with another person instead of by myself alone.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keep the above sentence in mind...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In less than two weeks, we will be married!

In less than two weeks, our marital status will be married instead of single.

feels weird but sweet.... =)

Kolo Mee

I am savouring the kolo mee that his roommate tabao and import back from Kuching now.

Whenever he or his roommate is going back to Kuching, they will tabao back several packets of Kolo mee. That will be their dinner for the next few nights.

Even if it is me, I don't think I will get sick of eating it continuously for the next few nights. =p.

I am not sure why. Kolo mee in Kuching taste very different from the one sold in Jia Xiang even though the founder of Jia Xiang is from Kuching!

Kolo mee is one of my must-eat whenever I went back to Kuching with him. =p. Actually I eat a lot when I am in Kuching. Their sarawak laska is very nice too. Very different from the Singapore one. Edwin like the kuay chap very much. He say it is very different from Singapore too. Oh ya! Their 'o jian' is not those thick thick de.. It is crispy crispy and thin thin de. Very nice lei! The most important thing is his po po's cooking is very nice!!!! nice dinner every night.. yummy! haha...

Okay. I shall stop here now... need to stop drooling over food... =S...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Eh! If you all want to have a taste of Kuching kolo mee and sarawak laksa in Singapore. You can go over to a coffee shop in Jurong East. It is near the DBS bank in Jurong East (near the mrt station or old Jurong Entertainment Centre) and it is along the main road. =)... The food is nice...

Wedding Dinner

A long time since I blogged. I guess it was because of the lack of time. Audit has taken up most of my time. I used to work almost 6 days a week for the past two years.

After having a boyfriend, I have lesser time for myself. Ha! I am definitely not blaming him for the lack of time.

It is tested and proven that having a relationship will definitely take up a lot of your time. I finally understand why parents prohibit their kids to go into a relationship when they are studying.

Conclusion: It is too distracting and time consuming! Ha. =p

Anyway, back to the topic for today.

I guess for the next few years, I will be meeting up with my cousins and relatives through wedding dinners.

The time has come for a series of wedding dinners again.

I attended at least one wedding dinner for the last two to three years. I guess more will come in the next few years.

During the wedding, little kids are running around. Those are my cousin's children.

I used to be like them. When I was young, I love wedding dinners. That was when I can play with my cousins. We used to form one table and the food was never finished (it is a kids-only table) and the table was empty most of the time (most of the time, we were running around).

Well... I guess that is what those little kids are feeling right now.

As for the 25-year old me, I sit beside my parents instead. At times, I will walk over to my cousins and relatives to catch up with them.

guess which one belongs to my era... =p

=)

just cousins...
